Anti-social behaviour on public transport has become normalised and is going unreported.

That's according to the National Bus and Rail Union.

The union that represents bus and rail workers has welcomed a new safety survey launched today by Fianna Fáil.

It's asking passengers and staff to share their experiences.

Senator Mary Fitzpatrick says the online questionnaire will run for the summer:

"We asked about the type of experiences that people have had, do they feel safe? Do they feel unsafe? How unsafe Do they feel? And then what type of incidences have they experienced or witnessed? Have they reported it? What has been the outcome? Are they satisfied and that were really just trying to quantify a lot of anecdotal information in a survey."
