180 new full-time jobs are being created at a Johnson and Johnson plant in Cork.

It's part of a €150m euro investment in its bio-medicines manufacturing facility in Ringaskiddy.

The Janssen plant has been operating since 2005, and already employs 700 people.

It comes after Nato countries agreed last night to send more troops and lethal equipment to nations surrounding the country.

Nato will send jets and equipment to protect against chemical weapons.

A World Health Organisation expert says face-masks and social distancing should return in confined places in Ireland.

Face-coverings haven't been mandatory in any setting since February 28th - but Covid cases have surged since then.

1,419 patients were in public hospitals with the virus last night, compared to only 596 when the mask mandate was lifted last month.

Volunteers will be shaking buckets across the country today for Daffodil Day.

It's the first time it'll be held in person for three years but many volunteers can't take part due covid 19.

People are being urged to buy daffodil pins to help the almost €45,000 people diagnosed with cancer here each year.
