Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, Wife of Canadian Prime Minister, Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Sophie Gregoire Trudeau has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Sophie is the wife of Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister. Sophie has been speaking at an event in the UK and returned home and began exhibiting "flu-like symptoms" which including a mild fever.

Once test results returned it was confirmed that she had indeed contracted the Coronavirus.

Justin Trudeau continues to work as he held phone meetings with the leaders of Italy, the US and the UK on Thursday and another phone meeting with a special cabinet committee on the outbreak.

Trudeau's Communications Director released a statement on the couples behalf saying, "Following medical advice, she [Sophie] will remain in isolation for the time being. She is feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild,

“As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he [Justin] will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days,” the statement added. “Also on the advice of doctors, he will not be tested at this stage since he has no symptoms.”
