Canada becomes the second country in world to approve use of Pfizer-BioNtech Covid vaccine

After receiving the application for approval on October 9th, Health Canada determined it meets the Department's stringent safety, efficacy and quality requirements for use in the country.

Meanwhile, a 90-year-old Irish grandmother who became the first person in the world to have the vaccine, has been discharged from hospital.

Margaret Keenan from Enniskillen was given the jab in Coventry in England yesterday.
