The local council in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol says an art school which was sheltering 400 people has been bombed.

It's believed many are still trapped under the rubble.

The city's mayor also says people are being forced to evacuate to Russian cities.

Although this hasn't been verified, it’s a claim that is recognised by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna:

"It has been recognised as absolutely nonsense, to evacuate people to the territory of the country that started the aggression on Ukrainian territory, so now they do it forcefully."
