Irish farmers have called for a temporary ban on live animal imports from the UK after a suspected foot and mouth disease case was detected.

An exclusion zone has been implemented in West Norfolk while health officials there investigate.

Initial assessments came back negative but the British Department of Food is running a second round to double check.

Meanwhile the Irish Beef and Lamb Association has called for live animal imports to be paused until that's completed.
