It follows an announcement from TikTok that they're making 13 to 16 year old's accounts automatically private.

Alex Cooney, CEO and Co-Founder of CyberSafeKids, says children shouldn't even have the option to make their profiles public:

"They are currently public by default. Lots of children that we talked to, don't even know that. They sign up and they're not aware that they are sharing with a potentially vast audience. The very nature of the app is to share personal information and to connect with others, and those aren't great things for children, necessarily."
