The Mayor of Kyiv has announced a 35-hour curfew, starting this evening.

About 3 million people have fled the country, nearly half of them children, according to the UN refugee agency.

Peter Stano is the lead spokesperson for the European Commission on Foreign Affairs.

He re-iterated the EU's condemnation of Russian attacks on civilians in Ukraine

"Deliberate attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure by Russian troops are shameful and reprehensible. In addition, they are accompanied by a full scale disinformation campaign where lies are used to justify the violence committed by the Russian troops in Ukraine. These attacks against Ukraine and its population constitute a serious violation of international humanitarian law"
