Over €40,000 has been raised for a young Ukrainian boy to help him in his battle against leukaemia.
Leonid Shap-oval fled Ukraine with his parents and grandmother, and was due to undergo a bone marrow transplant in Kyiv on March 10th.
The Shapoval family were assisted by Cork South West TD Michael Collins, after Leonid's aunt who lives in Ballydehob had contacted him.
A fundraiser on GoFundMe was set up for the 5 year old by his Irish relatives, and has raised over €40,000 in just over a day.
The family are now staying in Ballydehob, and it's expected that Leonid will be referred for treatment here.
