It's expected the death and injury toll at a collapsed building in Majorca will continue to climb throughout today.

Four people have died and at least 16 are injured after the roof of Medusa Beach Club in Palma collapsed yesterday evening.

Emergency services are at the scene this morning to carry out a search and rescue operation.

Graham Keeley, Spain Correspondent for The Independent, says it's possible some tourists were involved in the incident:

"Playa de Palma -where the Medusa Beach Club is - is very popular with British Irish, and German tourists. According to reports, there were many tourists in the area, so they are unclear at the moment whether any tourists have been involved. So far in this accident".
