Around 1,800 Ukrainian refugees have arrived into Ireland with that number set to increase rapidly over the coming days and weeks.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said everything will be done to make sure people fleeing the war get proper accommodation, healthcare, education and other services.
It's expected in the region of 100,000 people could arrive into Ireland from Ukraine.
It's estimated more than 1.7 million people have so far fled the war torn country, with Micheál Martin expecting many more arrivals.
"About 1,800 have arrived in Ireland, Ukrainian people fleeing the war, 486 yesterday.
"It's growing and increasing day by day.
"About two thirds of arrivals have connections with families in Ireland, but that number is decreasing - in other words more and more who don't have connections with families are arriving."
