A tree has been planted to honour Cork's September 11th victims

Cork born Ruth Clifford McCourt, who was originally from Ballintemple, and her four year old daughter Juliana were on board United Airlines flight 175 from Boston to Los Angeles when it was hijacked and flown into the World Trade Centre in New York, the second plane to hit the towers.

An oak tree has been planted at Marina Park by family members Mark and John Clifford, with the official ceremony performed by Lord Mayor Councillor Colm Kelleher.
