Inquest into death of man attacked with a bottle in the city adjourned

Jason Butler who was originally from Castleredmond in Midleton, Co Cork died on the 16^th of June last year.

Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster told Cork Coroner’s Court a post-mortem was carried out and indicated cause of death was a hypoxic-ischemic brain injury coupled with alcohol and mixed drug intoxication and a sharp force injury to the face and neck.

The inquest heard a man has been before the courts in relation to the death and today’s case was adjourned pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.

30-year-old Aaron Babbington of Churchfield Avenue, Cork city appeared before Cork District Court last month charged with the murder of Jason Butler on Grand Parade in Cork on June 14^th last.
