Inquest into death of man attacked with a bottle in the city adjourned

Jason Butler who was originally from Castleredmond in Midleton, Co Cork died on the 16th of June last year.

Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster told Cork Coroner’s Court a post-mortem was carried out and indicated cause of death was a hypoxic-ischemic brain injury coupled with alcohol and mixed drug intoxication and a sharp force injury to the face and neck.

The inquest heard a man has been before the courts in relation to the death and today’s case was adjourned pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.

30-year-old Aaron Babbington of Churchfield Avenue, Cork city appeared before Cork District Court last month charged with the murder of Jason Butler on Grand Parade in Cork on June 14th last.
