St Finbarr’s are the Bon Secours Premier Senior football champions

The Togher side picked up their 10th county title as they beat Clonakilty in a tight battle in Pairc ui Chaoimh, winning on a scoreline of 0-14 to 0-13, Stephen Sherlock top scoring for the champions with 7 points as they lifted the Andy Scannell cup for the first time since 2018.

Manager Paul O'Keefe said it was an absolute battle when speaking on the Big Red Bench afterwards.

"This is three years in the making. It doesn't get any sweeter than this.

"Winning a real battle by a point in the county final, that's Roy of the Rovers stuff. It's just fantastic, a dream come through.

"To be honest, I've spent most of my adult life chasing this, and this is fantastic. I'm lost for words.

"Clonakilty have pedigree, they have nine county titles. They weren't coming up here for the fun of it, they gave it everything.

"They pushed us all the way. We knew were going to get a battle off them, I just didn't think it was going to be that much of a battle!

"It's great, it's fantastic to get over the line. It's a dream come through."

O'Keefe praised his panel after their substitutes helped fire them to victory in the Páirc yesterday.

"There's massive depth there, when we needed to inject a bit of pace we did, and bringing Shieldsy on, you can't buy that experience.

"It's phenomenal. It's just a great day."
