John Cleary's tenure as Cork senior football boss will continue.

The Cork County board have confirmed that the 62 year old has been ratified for a two year term.

The Castlehaven native has been in charge since 2022, taking over initially on a temporary basis from Keith Ricken, before being given a full three year term.

The Rebels exited the All Ireland series at the preliminary quarter final stage this year for the second year running, losing out to Dublin, and reached the quarter finals in 2022 and 2023.

Cleary's full management team is set to be confirmed at the next county board meeting.

A statement from the county board last night read:

"Cork GAA is pleased to confirm that John Cleary has been ratified at tonight’s County Committee meeting for a two year term as manager of the Cork senior football team.

"Details of selectors and backroom team will be announced at the September meeting of Cork County Committee."
