Cork boss Kieran Kingston says they won't be getting carried away after the win over Limerick yesterday.

The Rebels gained some measure of revenge for the All Ireland Final, winning 2-19 to 1-13, with Cork 15 points up at one stage.

Both sides played the second half with 14 players after Cork's Shane Kingston and Limerick's Seamus Flanagan were shown red cards for separate incidents just before the half time whistle.

Next up for Cork is a clash with Galway in Pairc ui Chaoimh on Saturday.

Kingston says they still have a lot to work on as they build towards the championship.

"Yeah, we had a lot of very good things in the first half and obviously goals lift the team, lift the crowd and lifted our performance right across the board with a lot of very good things in the first half.

"We contrasted that in the second half then where we had a lot of poor things.

"But they're learnings and they're takeaways, we have a long, long ways to go.

"We're only evolving as a group and I think our second half shows how much we have to learn yet."
