Douglas topple Nemo Rangers as champions bow out

Reigning champions Nemo Rangers are out of the Bon Secours Premier Senior Football Championship.

They were beaten by local rivals Douglas in their final group game yesterday, Douglas winning 1-10 to 11 points thanks to a late goal from Daniel Harte.

Douglas boss Ray Keating told RedFM Sport it was a huge win.

"We were very disappointed when we went out last year.

"There's always a bit of rivalry between us and Nemo, but it's nothing but respect - they're a brilliant club and we've had some brilliant games.

"The emotion at the end was just about us winning and us qualifying, and we had a lot of our street leagues kids there and it was great for them to see the seniors winning."

Castlehaven 1-9 Carbery Rangers 0-11
Eire Og 1-11 Newceastown 0-10
St Finbarr's 1-12 Clonakilty 1-5
And Valley Rovers 5-12 Carrigaline 0-8

The quarter finals will be:

Castlehaven v Valley Rovers
The Barrs v Eire og
And Clonakilty v Duhallow, with Douglas receiving a bye into semis where they’ll face the winner of Castlehaven versus Valley Rovers.

The relegation Playoff will be Carrigaline vs Ilen Rovers.
