The Foreign Affairs Minister says Irish people have every right to protest in a peaceful, firm, loud and clear way against Russian aggression.

Simon Coveney was responding to comments made by the Russian Ambassador in an interview on television in his home country.

Yuriy Filatov said protests outside the Dublin embassy are 'very aggressive' and claims his staff have received death..th-reats.

Minister Coveney has called on protestors to demonstrate in an appropriate manner, but says Irish people are angry at the Kremlin, not ordinary Russians.

The Foreign Affairs Minister says everyone has every right to be horrified at images coming from Ukraine:

"Irish people are angry, Irish people are disgusted with what they're seeing, we have war on the continent of Europe on a massive scale. And most people thought that those kinds of images had been consigned to history. But Russia has decided to change it, and an Irish people are as angry as, as other Europeans to see what's happening, and wanted to stop, and that's why we've been so vocal, and I think we'll continue to be throughout this war."
