The Winter Vaccination Programme for Covid 19 and flu vaccines is starting today.
It also marks the rollout of adapted bivalent vaccines as boosters, which include components of the original virus strain and the Omicron variant.
Covid-19 primary and booster doses for people aged 12 or over are available in the 15 vaccination centres across the country.
HSE Consultant in Health Protection National Immunisations, Dr. Lucy Jessop outlines who's in line for boosters.
"We're now announcing that we're using the adapted vaccines for people.
"Anyone aged 65 years and over, or who has a weakened immune system, can now come forward for their third booster."
