The Tourism Minister has said she's looking at making it easier for people to report pubs and restaurants not checking digital Covid certs.

It comes after the hospitality sector called for stronger sanctions against pubs and restaurants who breach Covid regulations as they say the public would feel safer knowing regulations were being policed

Minister Catherine Martin says people can currently do so through the HSE helpline.

But the Minister wants to make it more streamlined to ensure compliance with the regulations

"I think it might be helpful to tailor the helpline to allow members of the public to report specific incidents in a more targeted manner.

"This would be something we will communicate to the Department of Health, but it will be a subject of a discussion between the Department of Health, the Department of Trade and Employment and my own department."
