The vaccination programme is preventing over 13,000 cases of Covid-19 a week, according to the chief medical officer.

It comes as the highest number of cases in nearly seven months was reported yesterday, with 1,903 new infections.

12 to 15 year-olds will continue to get vaccinated in pharmacies today.

Over 50 thousand teenagers in that age group had registered by the end of yesterday.

There are significant road closures planned on the approach to the Dunkettle Interchange from 9.30am this morning.

The slip road from the L-2998 Richmond Road to the M8 southbound, just north of the interchange, will be temporarily
closed until Monday, August 23 at 5am.

Britney Spears' father has agreed to step down from his long time role as conservator of his daughter's estate.

Jamie Spears says he doesn't want a "public battle" with the singer, who's previously described the legal arrangement controlling her affairs as humiliating and abusive.
