It's estimated that 15,000 healthcare workers and admin staff are absent due to covid.1,011 Covid patients are in hospitals today, while there are 92 patients with the virus in ICU for the third day in a row.HSE CEO Paul Reid says he expects the numbers of workers out due to Covid to reduce in the coming days:
"The impact of having such a significant number of our workforce out, we now have almost 15 thousand out. It is really like tackling this way with one arm tied behind our back. Currently, that numbers still holding around that figure but we hope to see some improvement in the next while."
