Shopping on the high street will be a very different experience from Monday, according to Retail Excellence Ireland.
Under Phase 2 of exiting lockdown, more non-essential retail shops will open.
This will exclude stores in shopping centres and they will need to have a ground-level open entrance.
Jean McCabe from Retail Excellence Ireland says people won't be able to browse as they once did.
"It is going to be very functional.
"People will be going in with their list, they know what they have to buy, they'll have it researched before hand, they;ll pick it up, they'll go and it will be much more of a quicker process than what they're used to, it won't be as leisurely as what they're used to.
"You're seeing retailers being really innovative about booking appointments, systems where they [the customers] can book their time slots and enjoy the space a little bit longer."
