Its being suggested that a return to working from home will help curb the spread of the new 'Kraken' variant of Covid 19.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control issued its advice after a risk assessment of the new XBB.1.5 variant which has spread rapidly across the US and has already been detected in Ireland.
Its also recommended mask wearing and urged public health authorities in individual countries 'improve the timely' take up vaccines and boosters.
However it says there is no indication that 'Kraken' causes any more severe illness than other Omicron variants.
