Normal air travel won't resume until the middle of 2021, according to a leading expert.

It's expected that air travel numbers will be down by as much as 90% over the next few months due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Joe Gill from Goodbody says it could take another year for the industry to return to normal.

"It does imply that you're going to have air travel numbers that are going to be down as much as 90% through April, May, June and then into July.

"They're issuing that you can get a level of recovery in what they call the domestic European market, which is intra-European, not so much long haul, but far from being fully normalised until pretty much 2021."
