Further Covid restrictions could be brought in before Christmas.

The Taoiseach says it's not clear if new measures will be enough to reduce the Covid rates - and refused to rule out going further.

A curfew for the hospitality sector takes effect tomorrow while everyone will be asked to work from home from this Friday.

Plans are being finalised for cheaper antigen tests and for an expanded rollout of booster vaccines.

But Denis McCauley from the Irish Medical Organisation isn't sure that will be enough.

"I think antigen tests and booster campaigns are not going to be the complete answer.

"I think this is a warning shot, I think we've 2-3 weeks.

"Everyone is telling us what to do, but I think we all have to take a bit of personal responsibility."
