Here's A Reminder Of Today's Covid Headlines

1377 New Cases

78 people are being treated in hospital for the virus, of whom 22 are in Intensive Care Units.

The coronavirus positivity rate among people under 24 is now as high as 15 per cent.

It comes amid growing concern about the spread of the Delta variant in younger age groups.

NPHET is urging people who haven't been vaccinated yet to avoid meeting up indoors this weekend.

Restaurants across the country are preparing to open their doors again on Monday, with the return of indoor dining.

Legislation allowing indoor dining will be signed into law next week - but not everyone will be allowed inside.

Fully vaccinated people travelling from Britain and the US to Ireland will no longer need to self-isolate on arrival here from Monday.

They also won't be required to take a PCR test 72 hours before departure.

People who aren't fully vaccinated will still need to test and isolate.

The changes comes into effect the same day as the new EU Digital Covid Cert.
