Artistic director at Cork's Everyman Theatre warns the sector will die unless a roadmap for reopening is agreed

The Everyman is a 650 seater theatre and has been closed since March 2020 and is 94% dependent on box office tickets sales

Sophie Motley is the artistic director at the theatre and she was moved to speak out after yesterday's disappointing meeting between representatives of the event sector and the Arts Minister which ended with no definitive re-opening date

The Everyman is currently limited to 50 people but management there say they can safely accommodate 170 people across the building which would made it more financially viable to run an event

Speaking to RedFM News Sophie Motley says if the Government refuses to deliver a re-opening date it will sound the death knell for the sector
