Concert goers are being asked to use public transport or one of the many multi-storey car parks in the city ahead of tonight's Westlife gig.

The group are playing Páirc Uí Chaoimh tonight and tomorrow- gates will open at 6pm with the first support act Wild Youth taking to the stage 30 minutes later.

Emeli Sandé will follow at 7:30pm before Shane, Mark, Nicky and Kian take to the stage at half eight.

Over 60,000 people are expected to attend the gigs and a number of roads around the stadium will be closed for the weekend.

Speaking to RedFM News, Inspector James Hallahan from the city roads policing unit outlines the traffic arrangements.

"Very similar to previous concerts, we will have a cordon in place from 10am, going into full lock down at 1 or 2pm.

"Then the outer cordon, which is the roundabout at Centre Park Road and Monahan Road, Crab Lane and Churchyard Lane, coming in at around 4pm, with a full lockdown at 5pm."
