A weather warning is in place for Cork from the early hours of tomorrow morning.

The status yellow wind warning comes into effect at 1am, and will be in place until 5pm tomorrow, it's also in place for Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Galway and Mayo with gusts of between 90 and 110 km per hour expected.

The update from Met Eireann says: "Very strong west to northwest winds developing. Widespread gusts of between 90 and 110 km/h expected, stronger in coastal areas and over higher ground. Wave overtopping in coastal areas."

Meanwhile a status orange storm warning has been issued for Roche's Point from 3am until 1pm, with winds reaching storm force 10 at times.
