Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of Cork man Kieran Quilligan

Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of Cork man Kieran Quilligan

The skeletal remains of the 47 year-old were discovered in a shallow grave in East Cork last week

31 year old Niall Long of St Michael's Close, Mahon was charged with the murder of Kieran Quilligan on a date unknown between the 1st of September last year and the 29th of January

26 year-old Luke Taylor of no fixed abode but formerly of Cherry Lawn in Blackrock, Cork who is facing the same charges as his co accused said he "didn't murder no-one" when the charge was put to him under caution

Both men were remanded in custody for a week to February 13th next for DPP directions in the case

The body of Kieran Quilligan from Baker’s Road in Gurranabraher on the northside of Cork city was recovered on January 29th last in Rostellan East Cork

He had been reported missing in September of last year.
