People in their 30s are set to be able to register for a Covid-19 vaccine next week, according to a NPHET member. 

The HSE says it expects registration for 30 to 39 year olds to open online shortly. 

Over 3.1 million vaccines have been administered so far - with registration still open for 40 to 69 year olds.

It could take another 3 years for housing construction to build back up to the levels needed to meet demand.

That's one of the findings in the latest Housing Market monitor from the Banking and Payments Federation.

The survey reveals that housing activity recovered strongly at the start of the year, despite public health measures shutting down building sites.

Almost €270,000 from the Dormant Accounts Fund is to be allocated to sporting projects in Cork. 

The money will be used for a range of new sport and physical activity projects across the city and county. 

The €5.9 million fund aims to engage with communities across the country and has a particular focus on people with disabilities, those who are educationally disadvantaged or people from disadvantaged communities.

People across Ireland will experience a solar eclipse today.

The cosmic spectacle will last for almost 3 hours and will see the sun being blocked out by the moon.

There's a mixed chance of seeing it with cloudy skies forecast for the west and sunny breaks elsewhere.

People are being urged not to look directly at the sun while the partial eclipse is happening.
