The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s Annual Delegate Conference gets underway this morning in Kerry with the focus set to be on staffing and bed shortages in hospitals

Latest figures from the INMO reveal just over 10 thousand patients, including 297 children, were admitted to hospital without a bed last month.

Yesterday 704 patients were waiting on beds nationally, with 87 of those in Cork - 68 in Cork University Hospital, 16 at the Mercy University Hospital and 3 in Bantry General.

Sinn Féin is calling on the government to impose a three-month price cap on energy.

In a motion coming before the Dáil later, the party will also call for the Environment Minister's new windfall tax on the super-profits of companies to be back-dated to the price peak in 2022.

Donald Trump will arrive in Ireland later this evening.

The former US President will spend tonight and tomorrow at his Doonbeg Hotel and Golf resort in Co.Clare.

His officials say the trip is private and no members of the Irish Government will greet Mr.Trump when he arrives.

Camden Fort volunteers say they still don't know when the fort will re-open to the public

The venue was closed in September to allow a health and safety audit to be conducted and the findings are currently being reviewed

The volunteers say they have been waiting months for an update from the council on the audit and in the meantime, they've have been unable to work on their exhibitions or carry out the maintenance the fort needs.
