The ship washed ashore at Ballyandreen near Ballycotton last month

The 44-year-old ship was abandoned in October 2018 and drifted ashore on the 16th February during Storm Dennis.

Since then, Cork County Council have repeatedly asked the public to stay away from the wreck, as it is potentially dangerous and unstable.

At the end of February, 62 full and 33 empty barrels of oil and other possible contaminants were air lifted by helicopter from the MV Alta.
