A court has heard the Garda file on the Tina Satchwell case is at an “advanced stage.”

Richard Satchwell appeared at Clonmel District Court in Tipperary today via video link.

57-year-old Satchwell of Gratton Street, Youghal Co Cork first appeared at Cashel District Court on the 14th of October charged with the murder of Fermoy native Tina, whose skeletal remains were found under the floor and wall in the stairwell of her home.

Today in court Judge Brian O’Shea said it was “quite surprising” that the Garda file has yet to be sent to the DPP.

Detective Garda David Kelleher said Gardai are waiting on several reports including a report from the State Pathologist and said said they are hoping to have it with the DPP before the end of this year.

Judge O’Shea remanded Richard Satchwell in custody to appear in court in Clonmel on January 2nd, 2024
