A book of evidence has been served on Richard Satchwell after the judge warned two weeks ago that the case risked being thrown out if the book was not produced today.

57-year-old Richard Satchwell of Grattan Street, Youghal, County Cork is charged with the murder of his wife Tina Satchwell and appeared at Clonmel District Court today.

Tina Satchwell was reported missing in March 2017. Her skeletal remains were found under a floor and a walled up area under the stairs of her home in Youghal in October last year.

Today in court Detective Garda David Kelleher of Cobh Garda Station said the book of evidence was served on Richard Satchwell just after 10am.

Judge Brian O’Shea told Satchwell he must provide any alibis he may wish to use within the next 14 days and said videos of his Garda interviews will be provided to his defence solicitors.

He sent the case forward for trial at the next session of the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.

Richard Satchwell appeared in court in person today and did not speak during the brief hearing.
