That's according to the Irish Taxi Drivers Federation
They say meters simply don't work in rural Cork and an agreed fare system is what's needed.
Taxis say the metered system is too expensive for those living in isolated areas and as result it has destroyed the taxi industry in the county as well as further isolating those living in rural areas.
