Micheál Martin addressed the Council as the only former Lord Mayor to become Taoiseach and the only leader of the country to address the Council.

His arrival was met by a protest by parents who are calling for more investment in children’s disability services….

The group protested on Grand Parade in May to voice their concern about long waiting lists and the high number of therapists leaving the public sector due to pay and conditions.

An anti-war group were also protesting, calling for the Government to maintain Ireland’s policy of neutrality.

Speaking to RedFM News after the event, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said he respects people’s democratic right to protest and says the government is very committed to special education and disability services.
