The State Pathologist, Dr Linda Mulligan has told a murder trial at a Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork today that a 55 year old man died as a result of chop and stab wounds.

Paul Jones was found in the hallway of his home on the Bandon Road on the 7th September 2019.

He had been attacked.

Dr Mulligan told the court that it was her belief that the severity of the injuries was enough to cause Paul's death.

Both Helen Jones and Keith O'Hara, with an address in Cahergal Avenue in Mayfield, deny murdering Paul Jones on September 4th 2019

Mr O'Hara also denies a charge of burglary, while Ms Jones denies a charge of aggravated burglary on the same occasion.
