A UCC report has found speech and language therapists feel large caseloads are preventing them from offering the correct care to children.
Therapists in the public sector say most of their time is taken up by administration and meetings rather than delivering direct care to a child receiving therapy.
Speaking to RedFM News, Author of the report Dr Noreen O'Leary says many speech and language therapists are thinking about leaving their jobs:
"People use terms like heartbroken, finding it almost painful to be going into work, really struggling with managing very large caseloads, finding it very difficult. For a lot of therapists leaving and going to other areas is becoming an attractive option."
