The plight of residents at a nursing home in the city is set to be raised in the Dail this week.
It comes after Carechoice announced that Beaumont Residential care home in the city is being withdrawn from the Fair Deal Scheme after a breakdown in talks with the National Treatment Purchase Fund.
Carechoice says the funding model used to negotiate with private nursing homes on behalf of the HSE is broken and the shortfall in funding is too wide a gap for them to bridge.
Socialist party TD Mick Barry has described the move by Carechoice to exit the Fair Deal scheme as "unacceptable" for the relatives of the 73 residents in the home.

Finance Minister Michael McGrath moved to reassure residents last week that the Government is aware of the matter and that they will be taken care of.
Speaking to RedFM News CEO of Carechoice Stuart Murphy outlined the level of funding they are getting through the NTPF.
"In our Cork homes, we have received an average of €16 per resident per week, and public nursing homes that have received €183 per resident of an uplift.
"And at the moment, it is quite clear that the HSE and the NTPF understand the required cost of care. So, our model has now been outstripped, in the sense that the cost of care for residents is not meeting the NTPF offer."
