A planning application has been lodged with An Bord Pleanála to build a 6 storey student accommodation block near UCC.
The Echo reports that Belmont Developments Limited has submitted a strategic housing development application, seeking approval for 78 student accommodation apartments and 206 bed spaces.
The proposed site is the former Finbarr Galvin Motor dealership on Victoria Cross Road and Orchard Road.
An Bord Pleanála is set to make a decision on the application in November.
