Petrol prices have soared to an all time high with fears they could continue to rise.
A survey published in the Independent newspaper shows petrol currently costs 1 euro 72 cent per litre on average.
Meanwhile a litre of diesel isn't far behind at 1 euro 63 cent, with prices examined at 260 service stations across the country.
The cheapest of those recorded was found in Laois, while Galway, Kildare, Wexford and Wicklow were the most expensive on average.
