Businesses launched a rebrand to highlight the town as a vibrant and resilient community after devastating floods last October.

Midleton Chamber says it expects the population of the town to double in size in the near future.

Speaking to RedFM News, Niamh Hegarty from Midleton Chamber says a flood relief scheme to protect homes and businesses is still on the agenda

"By no means is the flood relief scheme being put to the side because it's really top of the agenda, but this is more so that there is something in the future. You know we're expecting that  Midleton's population is going to almost double in size, and it's going to be a place of prosperity, it's going to be a place of economic growth, and I think we can get ahead of that now"
