A man is in critical condition after two people were assaulted during a burglary in the city yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 4pm, a man forced his way into a property in McCurtain Villas, Cork, and assaulted a man aged in his 20s and a woman aged in her 60's.
Both were taken to Cork University Hospital where the man in his twenties remains in critical condition, while the woman's injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area from 3:30 - 4:30pm yesterday.
