At around 12.30pm two men exited a car and caused damage to another car, the Gardaí were alerted and they carried out a patrol of the area but no arrests were made.
Detectives from Mallow carried out an investigation and executed a search warrant, with the assistance of the Armed Support Unit, this morning and as a result the two arrests were made
During the course of the search Gardaí also seized a number of offensive weapons.
The two are currently being detained at Mallow Garda Station.
