Irish Water and Cork City Council have issued a reminder to customers in the higher areas of Cork City North side that there will be a disruption to their water supply from 7pm tonight until 6am tomorrow morning.

The disruption in supply is due to underground network improvement works to facilitate the building of housing in the area.

They have also reminded customers that when network improvement works and outages of this scale take place and once water has been restored it is not unusual for customers to experience cloudy or discoloured water in their supply.

It is advised to slowly run your kitchen cold water tap until the water clears and do not use your washing machine, dishwasher, shower, or any similar appliance until the water clears.

Temporary traffic management and road closures will also be in place to facilitate safe delivery of the works.

Irish Water understands this type of work can be inconvenient and will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause.
