The HSE and two US laboratories have admitted liability in the case of Cork woman Irene Teap, who died after being dignosed with Cervical cancer.

Her husband and campaigner Stephen took a High Court action against Clinical Pathology Laboratories, MedLab Pathology and the HSE over her death in 2017.

Elaine O'Louglin from the Irish Examiner says Stephen Teap was in court today and criticised the US labs and the HSE over their actions since his wife's death:

"He gave a harrowing account of how this transpired, and how after her diagnosis his wife constantly asked 'how did this happen? She had done everything right and these words continued to haunt him. Mr. Teap fought for 4.5 years after his wifes death to get to this date where a settlement was made but hit out to the labs and the HSE for putting obstacles in his way."
