Gardaí have issued advice for those attending the Munster V South Africa rugby match in Páirc Uí Chaoimh tomorrow.

Parking

In terms of parking ahead of the game, Car Parks in the City centre will be open and pedestrians will be given priority after the match. Vehicles will also be held for pedestrian safety.

If you intend to drive, Gardaí have warned against blocking entrances to housing estates, businesses or parks, as well as parking on footpaths, disability spaces or bus stops.

Those who hold an Official Car Pass should approach the stadium from Victoria Road Roundabout before 5pm.

Buses

To reduce traffic, people are being encouraged to use public transport if possible. The 202 bus departs from Merchants Quay every 20 minutes, and will stop in Ballintemple.

Private coaches travelling to the game are being advised to park on the Boreenmanna Road faced for the South City Link Road, and will be prioritised after the match.

Road Closures

From 2pm, the following parts of the Monahan Road will be closed: Ardfoyle at junction with Blackrock Road, Park Avenue at junction with Blackrock Road, Maryville at junction with Blackrock Road, and Monahan Road at Junction with Link Road.

From 5pm, the following roads will be closed: Churchyard Lane and Crab Lane at junction with Boreenmanna Road and Blackrock Road with access for residents only, and Centre Park Road and Monahan Road at junction with Victoria Road.

Accessing the Stadium

The drop off area for taxis is on Victoria Road, just before Marina Walk and all other large Public Service Vehicles are to set down and pick up on the Boreenmanna road.

The stadium can be accessed by foot only from the City centre via Centre Park Road and Monahan road, a 15 minute walk to stadium.

An alternative route is a 10 minute walk from the Boreenmanna Road via Churchyard Lane.

Finally, Gardaí have asked that everyone follows directions from Gardaí and stewards after the game.
