Officers backed up by the Armed Support Unit responded to reports of gunfire at a housing estate in Knocknaheeny at 10:40 last night.
A search of the area was carried out and Gardaí patrolled the area over night.
Garda Press have confirmed to RedFM News that nobody was injured in the incident and there was no damage to property.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
